Super-star violinist Rachel Barton Pine, the Czigany Quartet, and special guests take the audience on an unexpected tour of all things metal, bridging Shostakovich and Paganini with Led Zeppelin and Metallica. That’s right – even classical music has its rock and roll moments!
John Winn returns to the Mountain to celebrate two jazz giants: Tony Bennett and Duke Ellington. Special guests include Charlottesville’s favorite jazz trumpeter John D’earth and Tony Bennett’s long-time bassist, Paul Langosch.
Step back in time to the ‘40s and ‘50s with an old-fashioned radio show, combining stories, music, and more. Featuring The Richard Williams Trio (2018 Virginia Commission for the Arts Touring Artist) and Wintergreen Festival Artists. Mike Goldberg, host of Richmond’s WCVE Music, a Community Idea Station, will be our guest emcee for this memorable evening!

Featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts, River Whyless is a creative, exciting new band from Asheville, North Carolina. The band combines the old-fashioned sounds of bluegrass and folk with more modern sensibilities. From its website: “River Whyless is a band much like that titular body of water – a mingling of currents, a flow of time and physical space, all brought together in a murmuring sense of purpose.” What does this mean? Well, come and find out!
