Bio from John Shanesy:

"I was born and raised in farm country Ohio. I grew up with my grandmothers wonderful cooking and baking. Moved to Virginia in 2007 and began cooking not long after.

I've been cooking around the area now for about 10 years. Working at places like Mas, Blue Light Grill, Paradox Pastry, and eventually becoming the Chef de Cuisine at Parallel 38 and then Petit Pois, Brian Helleburg’s wonderful bistro.

I moved from Petit Pois to New York City and cooked and did Short internships at some of the highest caliber restaurants in the country while living with my brother, Scott, who is a bread baker at She Wolf, the best bakery in New York City.

I returned to Virginia with my wife after we had a beautiful baby boy and began working for Wilson Richey where I have climbed the ranks to eventually land my first Executive Chef position where I am currently."
