Rootstone Jug Band: Including a Tribute to the Music of 1865–Wild Wednesday III

Not many musicians play so many instruments that "etc" has to be used in their bio, but that's what makes Rootstone — Roanoke's old-school, primitive revival band — unique. Actually, that's one of the many one-of-a-kind characteristics of this Virginia Commission for the Arts Touring Artist. Versatile, fearless, and creative, Rootstone will present Americana music with an eye towards how audiences "in the day" might have heard it. They will perform their usual fare of traditional music from Memphis, Mississippi, and the Carolina Piedmont. And, just for Wintergreen Performing Arts' celebration of anniversaries, they'll present music from 1865 — the year a divided nation began to heal.
