Haydn, Part 1: Chamber Music–Morning Seminar

Michael White, Composer-in-Residence

Michael White, Composer-in-Residence

Franz Joseph Haydn is often referred to as Papa Haydn, not because he had several children (that was one of Bach’s claims to fame), but because he is responsible for the birth and development of many of the genres of music we take for granted today.  The “Father of the Symphony” (he wrote 104!) was also the “Father of the String Quartet” and the “Father of the Piano Trio.” Michael White will take us inside the mind of this chamber music genius, opening your eyes and ears to his style and his influence.
