STRING QUARTET FELLOWSHIP

Sunday, July 7 - Sunday, August 4

Open to a pre-formed string quartet (or quintet) on the verge of a professional career. This full scholarship program includes private lessons, masterclasses, coachings, multiple performances, musical collaboration with major guest artist(s), performance as a member of the professional Wintergreen Festival Orchestra, and a supported performance tour of Virginia.

Explore chamber music in a supportive and intense environment. Study includes: private lessons, daily coachings, masterclasses, performance opportunities, professional development, special interest sessions, and more. Students develop musical skills, independence, and interpretation in the Academy while also observing their teachers and mentors perform at the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival.

VOCAL INTENSIVE

Sunday, July 21 - Sunday, August 4

FROM BACH TO MENDELSSOHN: A unique opportunity to study the rich heritage of Bach and Mendelssohn and the finer points of performing concert works with a full orchestra. Coachings, masterclasses, diction training, professional development, multiple concerts, and world premiere performances.

WIND CHAMBER MUSIC

Sunday, July 21 - Sunday, August 4

Explore woodwind chamber music in a supportive and intense environment. Study includes: private lessons, daily coachings, masterclasses, performance opportunities, professional development, special interest sessions, and an opportunity to perform side-by-side with their professional mentors. Students develop musical skills, independence, and interpretation in the Academy while also observing their teachers and mentors perform at the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival.

COMPOSERS' RETREAT

Sunday, July 7 - Sunday, July 21

Students explore the intricacies of chamber music composition, receiving world premiere performances and recordings. Studies include private lessons, group workshops, working with conductors and instrumentalists, and writing for strings, winds, and more!.

CONDUCTORS' SUMMIT

Conductors receive more than 120 minutes of podium time with student and professional ensembles in a supportive yet demanding environment. Additional classes include: baton technique, score study, professional development, orchestra communication, public speaking, and private video and materials review.

ARTS ADMINISTRATION FELLOWSHIP

Thursday, July 5 - Tuesday, August 6 (Leadership Fellows begin July 2)

Two different offerings: Leadership Fellows focus on one topic (production, patron experience, or academy management), and regularly train and manage others while learning side by side with mentors established in their careers. Exploration Fellows rotate through a variety of departments, receiving hands-on experience in marketing, development, patron communications, operations, and personnel management. Fellows participate in sessions with administration experts in the field of classical music, including Wintergreen leadership and guest mentors. Leadership and Exploration Fellowships are fully funding, including tuition, room, board, and a travel stipend.

COLLABORATIVE PIANO FELLOWSHIP

Sunday, July 7 - Sunday, August 4 (Instrumental Collaboration) – Flexible schedule is possible

Open to one or two collaborative pianists on the verge of a professional career. This full scholarship program works closely with the Vocal Intensive and/or String & Wind Chamber Music programs as the primary pianist and also includes daily mentoring and coaching. Additional possible classes include diction, string technique, recording professional development, and entrepreneurship.
