Wind Chamber Music

July 22 - August 5, 2018

Open to Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, and French Horn players at the undergraduate and graduate level. Pre-formed woodwind quintets are also encouraged to apply. Advanced high school students are welcome to apply as well, but acceptance will be based on the ability to form complete high-school-level groups.

THE PROGRAM

Explore wind chamber music in a supportive and intense environment. Study includes: private lessons, daily coachings, masterclasses, performance opportunities, professional development, special interest sessions, and more. Students develop musical skills, independence, and interpretation in the Academy while also observing their teachers and mentors perform at the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival. In addition to exploring chamber music repertoire with a student chamber ensemble, students will rehearse and perform side-by-side with their professional mentors and teachers.

The outstanding wind faculty and coaches are members of the professional Wintergreen Festival Orchestra. These instructors play in orchestras and ensembles around the country and internationally and are university teachers or experienced pedagogues.
