Wallace Easter III

Horn, Wintergreen Festival Orchestra

Bio

Wallace Easter III has enjoyed an active musical career with plentiful performing and mentoring opportunities.  Inspired by his father, he began playing the horn before he was large enough to properly hold it.  He was a student of the Wintergreen Summer Music Academy for two years.  He studied at Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music where he earned a degree in music, and a degree in physics.  He refined his musical talents at the New England Conservatory of Music where he earned a Master of Music degree.

He has found delight performing with professional artists and groups of various sizes from around the country.  In addition to traditional orchestras such as the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra and Haffner Sinfonietta, he has also enjoyed performing in more modern groups including the Juventas New Music Ensemble and the Video Game Orchestra.

He currently serves as a horn player for the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, horn teacher for Radford University, and artist faculty for the Performing Arts Institute of Virginia.  This is his 4th year as a professional artist with the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra.
