Channel 2 – Your Performing Arts Channel in Nelson County
Stay tuned . . . the launch of Channel 2 is on the horizon. It won’t be long!
Thanks to the generosity of John & Sarah Holman and Nelson County Cablevision Corporation, Wintergreen Performing Arts will be able to bring residents of Wintergreen and the surrounding areas a TV channel devoted to the arts. Over time, viewers can expect an array of programming that will include music, dance and theatre. WPA past and present will be the primary focus, but we also intend to bring you interesting videos and recordings from all over the world. On average, we anticipate that the on-going 10 hours of programming will change about every 6 weeks.
Subscribers to Nelson Cable are getting something unique, and we hope you enjoy the offerings. Feedback is great. Please feel free to leave a message below.
Once the channel is functional, programming details will be listed here.
As our newsletter’s title indicates . . . Ars longa, vita brevis (Art is long, life is short).
The phone rings . . . a man’s voice can be heard . . . “Sorry honey, could you please call back? I’m watching Channel 2!”
Upcoming programming will include:
WFO principal cellist Wesley Baldwin performing Georg Christoph Wagenseil’s Cello Concerto in A Major (1752) with the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra (from the 2010 WSMF).
The finals of the 26th Maria Caniglia International Voice Competition (from September 19, 2009) – Yes . . . there is a Wintergreen connection!
. . . and more!
