WPA and the Nelson County Public Schools

A partnership that benefits the citizens of Nelson County

Wintergreen Performing Arts works closely with the Nelson County Public Schools to bring live music, drama, and dance programs into the schools. Supported by the Nelson County Board of Supervisors, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews Band, this joint program annually brings 7000 kindergarten through 12th grade student hours of performances and workshops to the children of Nelson County.

In order to expose Nelson County students, their parents, and the employees of the Nelson County Public Schools to the joys of live music performances, Wintergreen Performing Arts provides them free tickets to annual Summer Music Festival concerts. This program is generously supported by The Gerald and Paula McNichols Family Foundation.
