A Shamokin Falls Morning Stretch

This Sunday morning we will visit the premier water feature on the mountain, Upper Shamokin Falls. Carpooling from The Market to a trailhead on Chestnut Place near the intersection of Shamokin Springs Trail, we will then follow a beautiful section known as Chestnut Springs Trail which leads to the Shamokin Gorge Trail, where we take a slight detour to visit Upper Shamokin Falls. We then shuttle back to our cars on Chestnut Place for our return the The Market. The plan is to be back in time for the Coffee Concert at 11.

Meet on the front porch of The Market at Wintergreen Resort (Exxon Station) for an informal guided hike. (If driving, please park across Mountain Inn Loop.)
While the area hosts a famous resort, the trails into and around Wintergreen’s undisturbed forests and streams are teaming with flora, fauna and fungi. Appropriate footwear is advised.
