Cello, Fellowship String Quartet, The Seacrest Quartet
Axel Rojas was born in Santiago, Chile. He obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from The Pontifical Catholic University of Chile where he studied cello with Martin Osten. He has had a rich and varied career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician, and teacher. Axel has performed chamber music and solos all over the world with orchestras throughout South and Central America, Europe, East Asia as well as in North America.
He has played under the baton of renowned conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Zubin Metha, Semyon Bychkov, Krzysztof Urbański, Laurence Foster, David Newman and Michael Sanderling. In addition, he has performed in masterclasses for celebrated cellists Natalie Clein, Heidi Litschauer, Gustav Rivinius, Roel Dieltiens and Micha Haran. Axel has made frequent national and international appearances as a chamber musician, with a versatile profile in his performances of both traditional and contemporary repertoire. Additionally, he has participated in several summer festivals including Young National Symphony Orchestra of Chile (OSNJ), Latin American Festival of Chascomús (Argentina), International Music Academy of Solsona, AIMS Festival (Spain), Orchestra of the Americas (YOA), Zeist Music Days (Netherlands), and for four consecutive years across Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival, SHMF (Germany). He has finished his Professional Performance Certificate at Lynn University.
Axel has been very actively involved in various projects where he maintains his passion for the Teaching Profession. He is teaching at The Conservatory School (North Palm Beach), Plumosa School of the Arts (Delray Beach), and the Preparatory School of Music at Lynn's Conservatory of Music (Boca Raton). Additionally, he is actively playing with The South Florida Symphony Orchestra and Southwest Florida Symphony.
