Academy Events!

Our Academy students travel to Wintergreen from around the world. They are full of excitement and energy, ready to soak up instruction by our top-notch faculty, and are at the top of their game.  If you truly want to be inspired, come support them at one (or more!) of their masterclasses or performances!

On Friday, July 21, we are taking over Charlottesville – all in one day. From coffee shops to summer camps, we’ll be, well, just about everywhere!

This year, enjoy our students performing all over Nelson County – from the Valley to the Mountain and everywhere in between. Most Academy performances will use a Pay What You Want system. Provide your donation at the door.

THE SEACREST QUARTET

Catch the 2017 Fellowship String Quartet ON TOUR!

From July 25-28, the Fellowship String Quartet will represent Wintergreen Performing Arts throughout the Commonwealth performing in locations from Williamsburg to Lynchburg.

  • Thursday, August 3 at 6:30 pm: Final performance at Wintergreen Summer Music Festival’s Mix, Mingle & Music VIII, featuring Artist-in-Residence Christopher O’Riley.

Observe our talented Academy faculty, comprised of Wintergreen Festival Orchestra members and guest artists, work with the String Chamber Music and Fellowship String Quartet students. Topics of instruction range from orchestral excerpts to solo repertoire, from chamber music to modern music.

CONDUCTING MASTERCLASSES

How does a conductor learn? And how hard can it be? Find out as the Conductors’ Summit students take the podium under the watchful eyes and ears of Maestro Victor Yampolsky. Repertoire by Brahms, Janáček, and Bloch.

VOCAL MASTERCLASSES

You will be amazed at the significant progress a student can make in a short time. With intense one-on-one instruction with Master Instructor Arianna Zukerman, Tenor Vale Rideout, and Baritone Bob McDonald and coachings from conductors Giovanni Reggioli and Erin Freeman, the students of the Vocal Intensive are different musicians after only 10 short days.
